Dr Emily Amos (nee Hart-Davies)
General Practitioner and Lactation Consultant
MBBS, FRACGP, DCH, IBCLC
I studied Medicine at Monash University, graduating in 2010. I am a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and have also been awarded a Diploma in Child Health from Sydney University.
I have worked for many years in General Practice with a specific interest in breastfeeding medicine, children's health and women's mental health, before qualifying as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2017. As a medical doctor first and foremost, my additional qualifications and experience allow me to expertly manage your breastfeeding issues including low supply and slow weight gain in babies as well as complex medical and health issues in both baby and mother relating to breastfeeding including nipple and breast thrush, mastitis, vasospasm, providing advice on medicines in breastfeeding, GORD (Reflux), food allergies and more.
At home, I live on the Mornington Peninsula with my husband and two young children. We love to go camping as well as enjoying the many delights of where we live.
Being a mum myself, I understand the unique demands placed on new mothers and the stresses involved when feeding doesn't go to plan. Because of this, I love working with families to find a solution that works best for them. I passionately believe that there is no "one size fits all" answer to breastfeeding problems, and I hope to empower every mother on their own feeding journey as we together work towards a solution for you and your family.
You do not need a referral to see me and I can work closely with your usual GP or Paediatrician to provide feedback about feeding issues if required.
